Stuart Scott, Longtime ESPN Anchor, Dies At 49 Stuart Scott, one of the most recognizable anchors in Sportscenter history, died of cancer at the age of 49, according to an ESPN press release. “ESPN and everyone in the sports world have lost a true friend and a uniquely inspirational figure in Stuart Scott,” said ESPN president John Skipper in the statement.
