Can you tell us a bit about how you started your career? What are some of your best moments in your professional life?

This question is interesting, because I haven't really considered my work as a career but more of a calling.

Right now, I'm helping the movement of social entrepreneurship in the Philippines and eventually in Southeast Asia through the BCYF Institute for Social Enterprise & Development.

Before that, I started social enterprises myself. But even way before that, this journey began back when I was growing up and decided I want to be immersed in work that actually makes a difference in society.

I volunteered in organizations, explored what I was passionate about and it turned out to be this road of using business to create social change.

Therefore, the best moments of my "professional" life are those that affirmed me that I made the right choice following my calling.

If you could advise your 20-year-old-self today, what would tell her?

Always pursue the road of your purpose. Embrace ambiguity. Embrace failure. Live through the questions.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Surround yourself with friends who can still lovingly make fun of you and will support you when you're up and especially when you're down.

What has been the most valuable advice you've ever gotten when you were facing challenges in your career?

Fail forward, embrace discipline, and always live with purpose.

What would you advise the millennial just starting with their career or aiming to take their careers to the next level?

Pursue that which can make you a better person. Grab opportunities that can make you the best version of yourself. You see it's not always about being passionate about what you do.

Your true goal is to be the best you that you can ever be, and sometimes that means enduring things that you won't necessarily be passionate about. But if that's what is going to get you to the next level of being a better version of you, then hustle on.
