Mitt Romney Praises Joni Ernst For GOP Response To State Of The Union Former Massachusetts governor and 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney (R) praised Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) for her GOP response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday.
Romney called Ernst's speech "concise, compelling, clear" in a tweet posted early Wednesday.
In her speech, Ernst challenged Obama on health care, the Islamic State and the Keystone XL pipeline, among other things.
Romney stumped for Ernst, who was elected to the Senate in November, in the lead-up to the 2014 midterm elections.
